New Blood test supposed to determine your lifespan

This "new" test is getting a bit of airtime over here , found this link about it the Daily Telegraph (UK London) and its not far from the 'debunked' Science of Eugenics

New £435 blood 'death test will prove a person's longevity' - Telegraph

think this raises lots of questions and needs to be sorted sooner rather than later , not so much for folks like me but for the young ,are the powers that be going to be able to decide if its cost effective to offer various costly health treatments or a decent education to the ones who have the wrong chromosones (sp?), not to mention life insurance and lots of other stuff .
Understand Science has to progress , and lots of good things have been found by unpalatable research ... But this , I'm not so sure about

Anyone care to comment on the subject

An expensive rip off!
I consider environmental factors have a greater effect than genes in determining life expectancy.

There are some people who believe everything that a medico tells them.
As the year of death approaches they will get sick i.e. they will make sure that -
'the doctor is always right'

I can't see there being many takers for this expensive blood test........I was going to say exactly the same thing that Accyman has observed....you could spend all that money having the test, and then die in other circumstances.

That is a bit like how voodoo works.

If you tell someone they are going to die...you will always be right!

What a load of rubbish...reading your future from tea cups went out of fashion with the invention of teabags... now we have some business minded charlatans wanting to charge £435 for the same old kak... and they call this progress? :D

Ya Margaret I have a blood test every fortnight, which intimates that I could, at least, have another two weeks:D

Re: New Blood test supposed to determine your lifespan

I have had blood tests a few years ago.
The only thing wrong with me was said to be 'high cholesterol'.
My research on the web has convinced me that there is nothing ominous about having 'high cholesterol'.

When it comes to the crunch, many of these tests are excuses to convince you that you need expensive drugs, or to monitor the effects of drugs already prescribed.

Blood tests are a useful tool, as long as you don't just accept a doc's interpretation of them.

PS -
A few months ago I paid £55 for a hair mineral analysis.(by post direct to a lab)
I did it to decide whether my detox methods had succeeded in ridding me of heavy metals.
I had symptoms of mercury poisoning following that year in which my (mercury amalgam filled) teeth were extracted one after another.
No such test is available on the NHS, and most conventional docs would not know what the test results indicate.

Monitor your own health - you happen to be the person who knows your body best
...and the only one who really cares enough to put things right.
