As I said, I'm not at all bothered if you're a true blue tory, or anyone else for that matter. I just think it is completely ignorant to tell the electorate at any time that they have to live on a mere £38k. You are aware I take it that the Tory central office weren't enamoured with PBs presence ;)

Than I 'would have you believe'?

When you've been around a little longer you'll realise I post what I actually think, and don't have the time to waste masking hidden agendas.

Apparently he did regret the comment about living on £43,000.00 (not £38k), and realised it was a gross faux pas.

Bad P.R.

Nor am I in the habit of doing that.

Unless I've clear evidence to back-up what I'm saying.

Unlike your good self.

Who had 'a pop a the folks' of St. Andrew's ward.

Wrongly labelling us all 'true blue Tories'.

;)

It certainly was a tongue in check remark, which I'm sure everybody makes from time to time, but I did actually inform him that unfortunately when your in the public eye you can't make statements like that tongue in check or not, you cannot unsay something you've said

Saint Andrews ward of old which in the days of the old Ossy UDC was foxhill bank ward which was a safe Labour seat until 1966, the Tories hadn't won it since the war, but along came a gentleman called Kenneth Joseph Hargreaves who changed all that

I can accept it may well have been a "Throw Away Remark" but what i find hard to accept is, the fact this guy thought he was competent enough to represent Hyndburn as M.P. when remarks such as that clearly demonstrate he aint the "Brightest Lamp on the Street" thankfully head office seemed to have that fact sussed.

What was more shocking was the support he had from the local Conservative party, who were hoping it'd be third time lucky, if he stood.

:rolleyes::D

We'll have to wait.

Until Jaysay tells us which it is.

:D

Hmm there's many a throw away remark revealed the true nature of the person. :)

Yes, we've collectively noticed that too.

On the odd occasion that a gobby newcomer, with no evidence to back-up what they're spouting, joins our happy little band, here at Accy Web.

I never make throw away remarks. Like you Garinda I say what I mean and mean what I say. From one gobby to another I'm sure you'll appreciate that and wouldn't have it any other way :D

Don't even try and make some comparison with myself.

I can always produce evidence to illustrate and prove what I post.

Just as I did when I quoted your 'true blue Tories', as being the reason Cllr. Britcliffe is re-elected, which is a totally incorrect, and a ludicrous suggestion.

If there was an analogy to be drawn, I'm Premier League.

You're jumpers for goal posts.

...and you're providing plenty of evidence for me to prove that to be true.

;)

Speaking about gettings ones facts correct.

On page 5 of this topic you can clearly see that I stated: I don't think we should be too bewildered at PBs relentless hold on his ward if the majority of the constituents are true blue Tories

It's ok, I accept your retraction G :D

The trophy room at Rishton Towers is a little bare but I'm not sure a plaque estolling the virtuous nature of Peter Britcliffe would cheer up any unregarded corner of my residence so I'll leave it be for now.

The local scrap salvagers may have other ideas.

Two examples you've provided, in this thread alone.

Where you've posted 'throw away remarks', with no evidence to stop them being just that.

In conclusion, unless you supply evidence, which would make the two quotes not throw away remarks, that means you are woefully mistaken, or in the habit of saying things which aren't true.
