I actually agree with a Tory shock horror!!

Never thought I'd see the day but, hell yes! Backbencher Harriet Baldwin has mooted the idea that child tax credits should be capped at 4 children for familes that have no wage-earner. About time too, I've seen several instances where a families tax credits award is greater than my annual wage! Unless there are exceptional circumstances, eg you had 2 kids and then had a set of triplets I think that's the way forward. Too many kids think that a life on benefits is an acceptable career choice, time for a change!

Spot on linds, also think if the family has no wage earner and are being paid tax credits that are greater than your annual salary they probably be also getting council tax benefit ,housing benefit , jobseekers allowance the list goes on

I remember a few years ago Lindsay, a young child was knocked down and killed in Ossy, she was one child in a family of seven kids, the only thing the feckless father could say was he'd lose the child benefit, this is certainly the way forward

Yes it does seem right,
However there are some folk that only seem to have to drop their kecks and she's preggers again!
So long as they are prepared to contribute & not take advantage, I say, welcome to the world junior, may you go on to be another Faraday.

The reason you've never heard such a thing is because whenever anyone talks sense, you run around in circles with your fingers in your ears shouting, 'La, La, I don't want to know'.

I agree with it, but as we all know what politicians say and what they actually do are planets apart
