That will be why it's closing then

It closed New Years Eve, early as a matter of fact, seems our travelling brothers kicked off big time, certainly centre of the community.:D

Not been the club for a very long time.. to be honest when I knew it was late 70's and it was a place for the locals .. Ormerod St . Fountian St and such like Willows Lane...almost all white working people either from mill or had worked in the mills or Engineering round about them parts.
Can't help thinking the change in the local population may have changed things.. maybe just a sign of the times when a high proportion of the folk round that way don't drink and don't socialise in a WMC.

That can't have helped Mancie, but doubt if it was a deciding factor, clubs were all white folk are in a large majority have vanished, n the population aint changed much in those areas, i'm aware of 1 in such n area thats been struggling fer a few years now, think it goes a bit deeper n that.;)

The Harmonic went a long time ago, went private first, think it was Vinny Whitehead from Ossy who had it then

Perhaps it's partly due to the traditional working classes, bettering themselves, and prefering to sup in oak panelled bars, in the swankier parts of in London, rather than in the old style working mens' clubs.

Hyndburn MP Graham Jones' concern over the rise of a ?pro-politician? (From Lancashire Telegraph)

Well, it could explain about 95% of closures, I'd say.
