Well, if that means they've got one spare now, I'll take it on, I wouldn't mind a chance of a few Directorships to keep the economy, (esp' mine) on the right tracks.
:)

Re: Hooray! and about time too!

Well if they can do it for Goodwin, how about the rest of the time served convicts in the House of Lords? Jeffery Archer, Baroness Uddin and all the rest of the leeches. And when they have got through that lot then they can make a start on the gongs handed out to useless and incompetent civil servants and puffed up members of the Defence Staff.

The Honours System is discredited, and it is the government who are to blame.

Wonder if he'll get a rebate on the donation he made to Tony:rolleyes:

He could have kept the Knighthood and just given the money back. Anyway I hope it has wiped the self satisfied smirk off his daft mug.......but probably not, after all he still has his ill gotten gains.

Being in the gutter, and therefore having my ear closer to the ground, I heard this delightful news eighteen minutes earlier than you.

What a shame.

Still, he has enough money to buy another gong, just as soon as the dust's settled.

Little known fact.

He used to be called Bloggs.

He changed his name only after securing the top job at RBS.

Yeah, yeah Dame Babs.

We all know your home help doesn't knock off until seven, and besides, he's too busy doing your scribbling to make any tea.

Don't know about gossip, but they have it of to a tee with other peoples money, Gordon and Alistair thought they were at a wedding every day throwing money about like confetti

I said a 'socialist at heart'.

You're allowed to just make it up, as you go along.

Isn't that slander or libel. I feel an action for damages coming on. Quick, Ivan darling, get the solicitor on the blower.

What the hey, if your going to make a claim Bob, think big, add whiplash to it, Barristers are so used to seeing that put forward on just about everything they won't even question it's validity except when it comes to increasing their own fee.

Acrylic-bob 31-01-2012 19:12

Re: Hooray! and about time too!

Talk sense, Less. How can you get whiplash from malicious gossip? Ohh, I don't know though, you might be on to something there. Ivan darling, do be a dear and bring the surgical collar.

Nah he'll turn up in an iron lung bought from an NHS closing down sale, (don't worry about the cost Bob, a good brief will add it to expenses).

Acrylic-bob 01-02-2012 09:26

Re: Hooray! and about time too!

No, I shall be like former President Mubarack, carried into court on a stretcher with IV drips in both arms and surrounded by an entourage of young, perfectly formed medical assistants ministering to my every need. Which, I can assure you, will be many, extensive and expensive. Iron Lung indeed.

I agree with you, this latest removal is purely for political reasons so Cameron can score brownie points with the public.

Its time our Queen or King decided on these matters again, it should have nothing to do with politicians.

Though I have to say I am a bit worried that in this jubilee year you don't appear to be too certain about the gender of our current Monarch. Nor, it seems, that we only have one. I'm sure that this is just a typo and I will put it down to the stress induced by finding that you agree with me, luv.:D

I do love you really :D

As I am sure you have noticed we have had both Kings and Queens in the past so I assume we will have in the future.

Incidents like this just so the honours system is political

Of course you do, I never doubted it, luv.

But, back to the matter in hand. I think that the honours system as it is should be entirely scrapped and replaced by a system of public nomination. Then at least those who do actually get off their backsides and go out of their way to help people and the country would get the recognition they deserve. As opposed to the current system where the majority of awards go to the self-serving, self-satisfied elite. As for stuffing the House of Lords with political appointees, I think I preferred it when it was stuffed with the hereditory Peers. At least they had the distinction of being amusingly eccentric rather than criminally inclined.

D'you know what I mean, luv?

I mean the poor bloke has been stripped of his title given him by his mate Tony, nudge nudge, but I'm sure he'll get over it quite soon, for my part I'm a little disappointed really, I'd rather he kept the knighthood and lose his £650,000 pension, now that would hurt the smug git
