I was leaving the shop at about 8pm last Friday 2 lads in their late teens found that the toilets on Peel St were closed. They decided they would walk across Peel St peeing as they went in the middle of the road.

Amazing isn't it that when Peel St toilets got closed down and we put signs outside suggesting people ring the council, a certain councillor sent a message to get them removed because thay had been seen on the towns cctv. Wonder if these lads were caught by the same system. I doubt it, councillors of either persuasion in this town seem to see what they want to see in the town centre

I saw it on the BBC News last night - mentioned Accrington and showed footage - was any one posting here shown on TV by any chance? :)

It didn't show many shots from a distance so didn't see how many people where there, did it say a few thousand?

kestrelx 18-05-2012 16:52

Re: Queen to visit Accrington in May.

Why didn't they show distance shots of the Queen in Accy on the News? Me wonders perhaps it's because there weren't that many people so they only had close-ups! ;) For example no Helicopter shots! :D

Talking of disappearing things, on which to park your arse in Accy.

The circular stone flower beds have recently been removed from Broadway.

They were a handy place to perch, when the few remaining benches were full.

Yes, when it comes to bungs, or more correctly promise of financial reward, subject to planning permission being granted.

You 'buy one councillor, and get the other one free'.

Sort of like a special offer.

(In your worst nightmares.)

Easy when you know it! Thankx.

My mum's friend helped with the flowers and it seems it was a massive effort to get everything perfect for Her Maj. Does she know i wonder?

The balcony was all in cream. gold and pale green apparently -did they have word of her outfit to match? -

Inside i believe it's all been done in lilac and pink, sounds lovely. Can anyone confirm or show any pics -despite two threads on the subject there have been very few photos...

She'll probably post what she took with her own phone on YouTube.

Have a little patience.

She has a lot on.

Lizzie'slife.com ?

Wonder what happpened to all the flowers once she'd gone - they must have cost a lot , hope they went to a good cause or a local OAP's home or such....

Perhaps all the HBC councillors etc. have rather nice table decorations at home this weekend.

There's never many left overs after council shindigs, I remember one having a doggy bag for the biscuits:D
