The three books by Dr Karla Turner I found quite convincing as narratives of alien abduction phenomena - the books are free on the web.

A light year is 6,000,000,000,000 miles. Is there intelligent life out there, well I would have thought so, but can they cross the interstellar distances, well maybe not. Why would they visit, how could the even know we were here, assuming our radio signals (which travel at the speed of light) can be detected far into space, where they get weaker, we could have passed 4000 stars by now. Hardly a lot in terms of space. Still who knows, maybe Zaphod is at a party in isslington:D |

I heard that Cllr Parkes had undergone a psychiatric assessment to prove he was of 'sound mind'. The doctor asked him ten questions including name, date of birth, date of Battle of Hastings etc, etc. It was going well until 10th question when the doctor asked him "Do you think Ed Milliband will win the next election?" Cllr Parkes answered "Yes, or course".
