I dont know if anyone has looked at the other live cams, but if you click the "back to cam menu" tab, it takes you to some very interesting cameras, my favourite is the barn owl camera

I didn't know they didn't make nests though as there is nothing round the chicks to keep them warm when mum or dads not there :(

Seen the chicks this morning, mum was pushing them back under her belly to keep them warm

That is self evident. But of course you know what I meant. Perhaps you got some green recently? Infact, I know you did ;)

Well it's easy to get knocked back down to red - say one wrong thing that a few people don't like and back to red! I don't mind really. I posted this thread regardless of getting back into green.

There are peregrines around Accy now aren't there and Blackburn and Darwen. Also buzzards and red-kites (Pendle area) these days - any one report any of these around Accy area?

Yes,Peregrines are resident in and around Accrington, preferring as in Haslingden to inhabit disused quarries.
Red Kites to my knowledge are not breeding locally. My brother did manage however to spot one drifting over The Coppice 12 months ago.I am pretty sure Grizedale Forest in the Lakes and the late Earl Lichfields estate in Yorkshire are the nearest Red Kite release areas to Accrington.
Regarding Buzzards, very few sightings over the years, but I am sure that will change in the not too distant future.Nearest local sighting this week was Ramsbottom, year before Bury.I hope the progression carries on.
Pleasington in Blackburn has had Buzzards for years but I have never noticed any spreading our way, probably heading Brinscall, White Coppice area but would only be a guess.

Thanks for the update Stevie - last time I was up there I saw Buzzard over that valley below Accrington Scouts - old quarries, in the woods. Also you get Short-eared Owls over Hambledon.

Are there still Tawny Owls around Ardenhall/Owl hall? Also there used to be Little Owls above the lodges on the coppice - up Moleside - Used to hear both these type of owls calling at night.
