Re: Peregrine Falcon Web Cam!
Afterthought -on the Ribble near Hurst Green there are Oyster Catchers nesting -nice to see, and the usual Herons, Canada Geese and ducks...
Once saw a Kingfisher on the Calder as a girl when out walking on a sunday with my dad -fantastic sight. Saw one on our canal here a cuple of years ago -haven't seen it since though, pity... |

I found this peregrine cam in Rome the young are bigger than the London one. It also seems to run longer than the London one on my computer - the London one doesn't run longer than a minute before I have to refresh. Access to the riverbank is on the Padiham side of the Walton Arms. Kingfishers, are more common in the area now. This is definitely down to improved water quality.Last local sighting,River Hyndburn at Church this week. |

These Italian Peregrines; some have left the nest tray and gone along the ledge - very precarious in spots like this they can fall off and die! :( Birdcam, il sito delle webcam sui falchi pellegrini |

http://www.flickr.com/photos/fabperegrines/7190450232/ The Chichester cathedral nest appears to have a smallish roof but the Nottingham Trent University one has no roof at all and there is only one chick left now after the bad weather of a couple of weeks ago when the brooding parent got absolutely drenched while sitting. Very sad but the remaining chick is doing well. This falcon watching is quite addictive! |
Re: Peregrine Falcon Web Cam!
Wouldn't say addictive Sue -i suffer from vertigo:eek: so find it hard to look at though interesting. Just seen the Italian peregrines in Rome-from 4 they seem to have gone to three though quite mature now.
Here the swallows are busy with their young and will soon be onto their second brood! |

He he we used to have swallows nesting in the roof of the feed store of our stable when we had the goats. I loved the way the baby birds would stand on the edge of the nest with their bums over the edge and poop. You could always tell where the nests were by the pile of poo on the floor below! |
