That place used to employ a lot of men. I remember knocking off time ... all the men walking down Charles St. ... I lived at the bottom of Charles St. on Rishton Road. My dad worked there before he went to work at Huncoat power station.

Looked after their workers when those places were producing,exellent sporting facilites
best cricket and football pitches well looked after specialy English Electric.

Never played on English Electric Roy, but played on the Rolls Royce pitches at Barnoldswick on a few occasions they were by far the best cricket pitches in the league by a million miles, was like playing on a bowling green
