its on the bus timetables they have in the bus stop .. you send that to a number and its supposed to tell you what time the next bus is from that stop ... and how long it will be ...

Ya but it doesn't mean the bus will be there at that time only that it should be:rolleyes:

On one of the rare recent occasions I decided to use a bus, I tried one of these things. Of course, I got a text back saying 'This number is invalid, please enter a valid bus stop number' , or some such.
Obviously, I then dived into the nearest pub and ordered a taxi. And a drink... :D

I am also a bit amused at how Lancs folk pronounce bus as 'Buzz'. :)

I think the "buzz" is what you get by spending too much time in the pub waiting for a taxi;)

Caesar adsum iam forte
Pompey ad erat
Caesar sic in omnibus
Pompey in is at

or,

What is that that roareth thus?
Can it be a motor bus?
Yes, the smell and hideous hum
Indicat motorem bum.
Implet in the Corn and High
Terror me motoris bi.
Bo motori clamitabo
Ne motore caedar a bo.
Dative be or ablative,
So thou only let us live.
Whither shall thy victims flee?
Spare us, spare us, motor be!
Thus I sang, and still anigh
Came in hordes motores bi
Et complebant omne forum
Copia motorum borum.
How shall others live like us,
Cincti bis motoribus?
Domine, defende nos
Contra hos motores bos!

Ah okay, makes perfect sense :p
Thing is that taxi cost me £9. The bus (Buzz :D ) would have cost me about £4. I figured I paid for convenience of being dropped off where I wanted to be and having help with my bag in and out of the taxi lol. I want to use buses more, though.

I thnk a "buss off" would be fun ... of course, you lose points when you come up for air;):yumyum:

And I'm sure tarring someone with the same brush contravenes health and safety regs. Use a sterilized new brush for each person.

Here's one of those rambling asides allowed us old farts: Nine quid for a cab:eek: That's more than I had in my first pay packet for a week's work.

Took me a while before I realised what you were on about there, Eric. It was only the smilie that gave it away. Not a word you hear very often, I wonder how many people know what it means?

I give up.
I Googled it and found 'BUS falls OFF cliff in Bolivia'. That can't be fun.
Buss Off Riddim-lots of sites but none mean anything to me.
There's a herring buss- cold and wet, no fun there either.

Come on, Susie/Eric. Explain, even if you have to go on the over 18 site!

It's a kiss ... a little old fashioned, maybe, and out of date. But so am I.;) Definitely doesn't belong in the over 18s unless the target of the kiss .... Mmm, I think the buss stops here.:D

Could also be someone's last name as in:

Miss Buss and Miss Beale,
Cupid's darts do not feel.

How different from us,
Miss Beale and Miss Buss.:D

Ahh! All that fun I used to have and didn't realize I was 'bussing'.
As for coming up for air- as I remember most teenagers would make good pearl divers or sponge divers.
