Re: What Are They Going To Ban Next????
I have been smoking every day now for nearly 40 years & not only have I NEVER found it addictive, if my kids were alive today they would tell you secondary smoking never did them any harm.

Re: What Are They Going To Ban Next????
smoking kills
obesity kills Both cause the NHS vast sums. Smokers pollute the air around them causing non smokers to breathe in their smoke. Obese people do not exude fat causing thin people to absorb their excess adipose tissue. I have absolutely no problem with smokers wishing to smoke in their own home/car etc and if I choose to go into that home then I do so knowing that I will breathe in the smoke. That's my choice. It's also my choice not to have smoke in my house. All this law is doing is giving non smokers the chace to breathe clean air in public places. As a non-smoker I am not vilifying smokers. I will defend their right to choose to smoke just so long as it doesn't mean I have to breathe in the smoke. It could be an alternative solution for a public place to provide a "smoking room" with adequate ventilation so that the smoke didn't drift to the rest of the place. |
Re: What Are They Going To Ban Next????
I wish this government would stop 'tinkering' with things.......I wish they would treat us all as adults......we make choices every day and some of these choices bring the chancellor a hefty wedge of money.......if we did all the things they want us to do we would all live longer and then they would complain that they have to pay more pensions......either that or they would have us work till we drop.
I am not a smoker......I drink very little alcohol and I expect to be made a saint sometime soon! |
Re: What Are They Going To Ban Next????
it is rather alarming that there are all these ppl who with the correct amount of pressure are gettin their way whilst there are thousands who are against it. yet the opposition party fail to pick up on this and maintain a strong challenge
they're all too worried about staying mainstream. |
Re: What Are They Going To Ban Next????
In any contest it seems to be that the noisy minority will always win out over the silent majority. As to the opposition, wasn't it said some while ago that New Labour was, in effect, more conservative than the Conservatives?

Re: What Are They Going To Ban Next????
My dad always used to say that it was not worth voting since all the parties pee'd in the same pot. I have to say on the current showing I have to agree with him.
Did anyone see Newsnight on BBC2 last night. Paxman was doing a really nice hatchet job on Michael Howard. Interviewing people on the street in Cornwall, it emerged that most of them didn't know who Howard was. and the few who did know wish he wasn't. Bring back Boris I say, at least he's good for a laugh. |
Re: What Are They Going To Ban Next????
Yep, I agree with you there A-B. I think we should bring Boris back, Yeah he made a mistake with the Liverpool comments, but what about the rest of them that continue to screw up in our name.........:)
