Neil, that is exactly what I mean. These are underhand tactics and they do nothing at all to enhance the integrity of those who participated in such practices.

It is all for sound bites and headline grabbing.(and local media are complicit in the deception) Many people will not look much further than the headlines and so they are bamboozled by the councillors.

When you actually look at the logistics it shows how disingenuous these councillors are.
Local politics is a nest of vipers.

I'm not sure what right collective noun is but surely it should be an intestine of tapeworms. They suck the goodness out of anyone they infest.
