Re: General Election called
I really do not see how a general election impacts on Ramadan.
This is a country that has Christian values, and of course we would not have a polling day on one of the religious days in the calendar, but this is different. Ramadan lasts for a lunar month and it should be about Muslims going about their daily activities whilst making the fast(which is supposed to be a spiritual experience). Those participating in the fast are supposed to go about their normal lives without the fast hindering them. Are they saying that for some reason they are not allowed to vote during this time? Is casting a vote forbidden during this time? My understanding is, it isn't. So it is just a nasty diversionary tactic that is of no consequence...should not even warrant a line of newsprint. |

Re: General Election called
Yes, it has Less and that is good to see.

Re: General Election called
It was MUSLIM MP's who started the bleating.
Maybe if they are so very concerned they should stand down and let those who can do the job at ANY time, take up the slack. |

Re: General Election called
It might be obvious to us Less, but it is not obvious to these bleaters...or they would have kept quiet.
It is playing a racial card and hoping that we will swallow it. |
Re: General Election called
jesus christ you see absolutely nothing from our MP for a long time then all of a sudden random photos of him keep popping up of him in various locations around the area
i hope he has someone with him who remembers the area we wouldnt want him to get lost well not around here at least |
Re: General Election called
where can i view candidates for county council as i would like to get to know what each candidates policy is towards the disabled with their care and how they are treated in society
im guessing the labour candidate will be the one more friendly towards disabled people but i think it best to be prudent just in case one of them has something like a 12 month police caution for attacking both physically and verbally a disabled person or some other abhorrent behavior towards disabled people that requires police involvement and a caution not that i should worry any party would put someone like that forward that would be just ludicrous but these days you just dont know |

Re: General Election called
Can you Imagine our Jonesy appearing before the selection committee?
'Now then Mr. Jones, how is it that although you aren't responsible for illegal war, or the deaths of thousands, within 4 years you manged to pees off 95% of the Hyndburn constituents?' (Jonesy) 'Well sir, I think I have a natural talent for representing the New Labour party PLUS I have less of a conscience than Tony Blaire so I'm perfect for the job.' |
