Anybody into WWE

Anybody watching the wrestling tonight. Sorry if its a boring thread can't think of anything to discuss :rolleyes: just trying to kill time til wrestling is on!

Just out of interest, I had an invitation to attend "Celebrity Wrestling", a new Granada TV show which starts filming in february.....don't know when its due to shown, though. I slung the invite.

the rock is still on the wwe payroll but hasnt appeared in ages hes to busy with films and also its the wwe now had to change there name by law after the world wildlife foundation complained as for last night i fell asleep who won the title

course we do well i do anyway but its better than most rubbish on tv as in all soaps would get rid of em all or have one channel with em all on and still even though its fake accidents still happen including death as in owen hart

yes the wwe provides good entertainment.we do realise its all fiction,but would anyone on here have the bottle (or stupidity)to just stand there while someone hits them repeatidly with a chair sledgehammer or set of stepladders.or have drawing pins strewn accross the ring while you carried on doing the moves they do.GOOD ON YOU TINKS KEEP WATCHING AND ENJOY

cant remember how long ago but was watching it live it was an IN YOUR HOUSE event owen hart was meant to be coming down from the roof into the ring and the ropes snapped so in front of a packed out arena he fell over a hundred foot into the ring and died instantly .As for the other night triple h s match was decent and kanes but the rest was rubbish that maven match was a joke .Forgot about raw live on monday night as well think its repeated tomoz night

yeah wrestling arranaed before hand but they cant be ready for everthing.went to watch raw oct 04 and an over eager fan decided to run in on main event,shaun michaels ,chris benoit and batista dealt with him.

so you wouldnt have enjoyed seeing stone cold steve austin getting his neck broke and his oponenet owen hart not realising it and carried on throwing him round the ring or mankind/mick foley back in his japanese days fighting in rings with barb wire ropes and having his ear ripped off by getting it caught on the barb wire plus the cage match he did where he got thrown off the top 15 ft high onto pins and as much as its acting that i couldnt work out it must have hurt no matter what

sure ti was through something like a pile driver why stone cold got his neck broke ive read a few of there biographys and the wwe might be acting but working your way into it through the smaller organisations isnt some of em are on that wrestling channel on sky

Been to see both Smackdown and Raw live at MEN Arena Raw always push the boundries more and put on the better show. Smackdown has more a comical element to it!

a mate on the bburn board went to the smackdown one at the MEN it was when taker fought heidenreich .Dont really watch to much of smackdown got a bit boring with eddie and bradshaw and kurt angle aint what he used to be it cant compare when you have fights like the one at revolution

Heya bostrom, and every one else ;)

Raw was very interesting this week, they seemed to throw a lot of swerves in the show to confuse us on where Batista is going, 1 minute B's gonna have a go at HHH then JBL comes on and it looks like he might accept the challenge, next min it looked like a fix from HHH 2 get rid...

Cant wait to see SD even though I allready know the results, it was filmed directly after raw this week, due to them heading over to Japan later this week, BTW any one Going to see Fozzy in Manchester/Liverpool on the 12th of feb, allready have tickets sorted for the daytime gig @ beirkeller in Manc, but the evening show is at KrazyHouse Liverpool, Jericho's gonna be dj'n through the night after the show, and its a all nighter :D

yeah seen a few of them on sky on the biography channel. Enjoyed Stone Cold's he held nothing back!!! Going to give Lita's a try when i find it i think. Mankind's will be interesting i'll keep my eye open for that one too cheers.

Sky sports seem to be showing a few of the cutdown "dvd" special's at the moment, last before the eddie one was "my name is eugine" which was quite cool, instead of books, has anyone got "Rise and Fall of ECW?" that has got to be one of the best buy's Ive ever made, "The monday night war" was a great dvd, but the ECW dvd is unbelivable, just cant wait now for the confirmed ECW ppv later this year, WWE have apparantly been trying to get some of the old names mainly Sabu/NewJack/ShaneDouglas for the show :D

The ECW dvd is a must own, even if you have never heard of seen ECW before, to see Tazz crying is a very powerfull moment, and shows the true passion the company had, I started watching it to fall asleep to, 6 hours later I was still hooked to the tv.... :)

Id like to see you throw your self of a 16ft steel cage, get back up and then get chokeslammed through the top of it again, I tend to agree with ppl when they say its fake or they know how to fall, sure the storylines etc are just like anyother soap opera, sure they break fall like any with anysense would, just ask them if they mind you putting them in a crossface or a ankle lock, see how soon it is before there screaming ;)

Story lines better than most soaps think that is the bit people are missing that don't watch it. Even so-called sad story lines (Lita's baby) are comical. JR and King make Raw they have me in stitches lol!!

Spanish comentator's on raw went when EB took over as GM, JR and King got moved up top near the 'tron were the old WcW comentators used to be, I suppose it was done in a way of getting EB over as GM of raw by making it look like the old WcW set

:( OMG! I am in total shock! WWE has lost one of it's finest athletes and a brilliant entertainer! Eddie Guerrero was found dead in hotel room this morning. What a tragic loss to his family and to the World of wrestling entertainment. Being one of my favourite wrestlers he will be sadly missed :(

RIP Eddie ........ you lied, you cheat and always stole .......... the show ;)

he has a previous problem with drugs so ime guessing at a relapse but then again the amount of steroids these guys take it could be heart failure

Hopefully for his kids. The money he earned cannot be replaced overnight so anything thats made should go to them to secure a future.

Sadley it shows that drugs is one battle you are not favourite to win. Hope his kids have the sense to stay away from them. I think some of the young WWE fans might hopefully learn from this and

Something else that bothers me is he was only a few years older than me. Drugs and steriods aside he was fitter than me. Makes me wonder about life a bit more and maybe I should take it a little more serious.

I wouldn't worry too much Spug. As I've discussed tonight with a fellow fan, the battering these athletes give their bodies is extreme! Eddie has taken quite a few dodgey looking chair hits to the back of his head in matches lately. These things must take there tole on their bodies and all in the name of entertainment! :(

I watched the press conference earlier and though Eddies alcohol and substance abuse was common knowledge, it didn't sound like it was a factor in his death, he had been clean for 4 year and was proud of that fact. I don't think anything will be known until an autopsy has been carried out.

i think most likely the cause will b heart faliure

prob due to the fact he bulked up so much in the last few yrs so quick. recently though i do think he was toned down from his earlier months... maybe thta contributed

just watched his last match and that chair shot he took from the newish wrestler looked kinda suspect

like tinks said though when you get men bashing each other around the ring the way they do the damage can add up

it sis all staged granny but they realy do hit each other with the chairs but they do it so it looks worse than it actualy is

one wrestler called mick foley was once thrown 30 feet to the gloor onto a table which he went through

although they have training on how to break a fall you cant fake been thrown 30 feet througha table , these guys put themselves through a lot of pain for the sake of entertainment

its like a much more violent coronation st...

all scripted but what happens in the ring is makin the other wrestler look good.

fallin 50 feet from the edge and riskign being paralysed is no fake...

Yes it is scripted and most of them are really cheesy storylines, which is one of the reasons I watch it, because the storylines are funny and it is supposed to be entertainment after all. :D

The injuries these athletes suffer during their careers have long term affects on their lives and to us it probbly makes us wonder if it's worth it, but to these guys wrestling is in their blood. The passion that these guys have for what they do usually comes down to the fact that generations of their own family have wrestled before them.
