Nope…I am not drinking any of it…I would rather drink stericol (the stuff we used to use to clean beds, trolleys and other medical equipment) and blow bubbles out my arris.

Give me a good brew of Glengettie tea….but please NOT in bags.

Hateful stuff…devils wee wee…..yes son…that makes me a heathen.
I have to say I haven’t ever plucked up the courage to ever taste it….but if it smells rank…then why would you put it in your mouth?

agree if its the scotch variaty you are talking about. do not mind the irish versions as they taste a bit softer. garlic, sprouts and scotch whisky must have all been invented in some chemical lab, but i suppose its each to their own.

No….whisky is definitely a punishment…or maybe at best…nasty medicine.
Sprouts can be improved by cooking them to death…mashing them with pepper and some good streaky bacon.
Not too sure about garlic…but it does kill fleas.

You must have excellent eyesight & a right good throwing arm if you can kill a flea with a bulb of garlic! :D

No….son…it is true.
Years ago the Italians who ran flea circuses found that if they are anything with garlic in it, when they put the fleas on their arms to feed….they died very soon after.
But if you haven’t got fleas you can eat as much as you like…you can have my share too…it is not my favourite.

Ah, that then raises the question of whether or not it was down to the flavour of garlic or maybe the Italian? :D

Do you know Son…I had not thought of it that way.

It throws a whole new light on ‘going out for an Italian’….now I know why it was never to my taste.

It is a good job Mick is not here…we would be getting our legs slapped for thread wandering.

But thread wanders are what keep things interesting. :)

I have tested the sprouts thing today.
Himself asked me not to cook them to death….so they were a bit underdone(for me that is)….can you really have sprouts that are ‘rare’….and no…I don’t like them.
For a very good reason.
I will be playing trumpet involuntary tomorrow from what is rumbling around in my gut right now.
I will need to stay away from naked flames as well!

See! Sprouts is evil! If Whisky be the Devils widdle, Sprouts must be right up alongside it as the Devils hors d'oeuvre (the fact that that is a froggit word just doubles down on my conviction). :D

Marge, I grow up to 30 sprout plants every year on my allotment but only because Hazel loves them; when you mention "can you really have sprouts that are rare", then yes you can, I can not stand them cooked but I do eat them uncooked which is as rare as you can have them. Sprouts are only a variety of Cabbage that has multiple heads, (sprouts), if eated raw they simply taste like a solid/ ball headed Cabbage, my mates reckon that I have lost my marbles eating them raw but every one to their own.
