Re: Personal Data.

Ryewolf, thank you for the very good explanation of cookies. It will help Taddy…I hope.
I understand these bits of information (or at least I think I do because I knew all that is in your clear explanation)….which is why I do not want them.
It used to say when you logged off ‘all cookies cleared’.
I would be happy if the current server had an option to select only ‘essential’ cookies, but there isn’t.
So I am left with the job of unchecking all these toggles every seven days.

It isn’t as if there is a lot on the forum that warrants going through this process once a week.
I am getting close to the point of not bothering because it hardly seems worthwhile.

Re: Personal Data.

I think they called them ‘cookies’ so that we associate these things with something pleasant.
And who would reject a lovely cookie?
Well, not me if it is well baked and full of white chocolate bits….but the other sort can bu883r off.

Marge, After reading Ryewolfs well put together post I am no wiser and to be honest I am not particularly bothered, I will just carry on tickling the keyboard and see what (if anything) pops up.
By the way, I hope that Dave is improving, please give him Hazel and my best wishes.

Well it seems obvious that the forum isn't implementing a good cookie policy, not sure how you get around it. It should be unless you accept all cookies none should be the default. There should be two options Accept all and Decline all and even that is wrong

Re: Personal Data.

On Friday I went through that irritating ritual of denying access for those pesky cookies.
So yesterday I was again asked to permit these odious bits of crap.
I managed to use my back button and avoided the blasted request….but this morning I was asked again and could not dismiss.
What the hell….? Four days…..will it be every day soon?
It isn’t as if there is much to come here for….I am getting very close to kicking this place into the long grass.

Maybe I won’t be missed seeing as I know bu88er all about football!

Re: Personal Data.

again today I have been faced with the request for permission for this personal data stuff.

so I am not going to use my ipad anymore to look at Accyweb.
My ipad logs me out every time i leave the site.
My desk top doesn't.
And I have told my Desk top when it asked for this info the 'Buzz off'(or words to that effect.
Save my temper for things that are more important to be mad at!
