HBC are charging £50 for a bin that will never be yours that you are paying a Large fortune in council tax to have emptied.

( OK some smart ass from the refuge department is going to come on and tell me how tiny the amount is they get for emptying them. I know that but it sounds better the way I said it ).

What happened to 'Privatisation'???

Surely someone other than' Hyndborg ' can offer a better alternative??

Or, forgive me, is it privatised already??

Hang on..... do Hyndborg, IE 'WE', own the tip???

If so, why are 'WE' paying to dump there???

Sorry if I sound so naive, sure the likes of A-B can enlighten me!!

Sorry, may have had too much Kumala on a Friday night, but still cannot understand why our beloved council pays for rubbish to be dumped on council owned (IE, our) land?????

Someone tell me I'm p****d, & it's not really true!!!

Re: Yeah? Recycle this then!

Uh, yes it is true actually. It cost us £2.25 million last year. And not only do we have to accomodate our own rubbish at the Whinney Hill site, but the stuff arrives daily from as far afield as Manchester, Wigan and Liverpool.

Now Lancs CC. want to spend some of the money you pay them, through the County Precept part of your council tax, to build a massive new waste processing facility on the site of Huncoat Power Station. That will take waste from the whole of Lancashire, and you can bet that we won't see a pennysworth of the benefit.

If I comment tonight, someone will say I'm P****d

Which, I probably am!!!

It's very, very big business, sita, biffa, have grown and are getting bigger.
If the Huncoat project does go ahead, could HBC not get the business rates, or would it be exempt from rates?

Yes it is difficult to understand, but it's a fact of life.
