Think they repeat it too much though!! but I do find it funny, and hubby takes them off really well. We will just be falling asleep when he will say sommet in one of their voices and it cracks me up hehehe.

Re: Little Brtitain......
Horses for courses! The all Monty Python/ Goon thing leaves me cold, l think its appeal was more to men, [ thats just because my Dad liked them!]
All the rest you dislike, l loved. Realism with a cruel twist. All northern except The Office. l never found southerners very funny in the 17 years l was there. Sat on a bus in Liverpool though, l used to regularly wet myself, earwigging on conversations. |
Re: Little Brtitain......
Doug, I loved Monty Python. I grew up listening to, and loving, the Goons and Python was the natural successor. But, you didn't like The Office? I really thought David Brent was a masterpiece of characterisation. I've never had a boss like him (though I've had some strange ones) - but my late husband did. The League of Gentlemen was funny in parts but a bit too surreal even for my tastes. Black Adder was very good but every time they repeat the last ever episode - I still get a lump in my throat.

Re: Little Brtitain......
So many great comedies yet they repeat such a small percentage over & over. I know Penelope Keith's lines in the Good Life better than her.
Fave repeat,, is Gimme, Gimme, so truly awful love it. |

Yeah Sean is the star of Corrie, hes like Raquel, over the top but beleivable. Better than all the serious gaty stuff they tried to do. Brooky did it 15 years ago. Corries strengh is its strong female led humour [inc. Sean] from Florrie Lindley to Cilla.
oopps wrong thread! |

LOL, OK shes over the top without being belivable. She gets funny story lines though, selling Schmichael to buy boots was funny, poor lil Ches, aahhhhhh.

Re: Little Brtitain......
Sean in Corrie reminds me of a gay couple we knew, years ago, in Whitby. One of them was very "straight" in his manner but his partner was as camp as a Boy Scouts' Jamboree. He was the life and soul of every party and I loved him to bits, he was Sean to a T. I am an ardent Lily Savage fan, myself. Normally, I can't stand "drag" but Lily's superb. :D
