Re: Bernard Manning 76 - Dead

I read his self-penned obituary in a copy of today's Daily Mail; very funny it was, too. Even from beyond the grave he made me laugh.

Wasn't a fan of Bernard Manning. I would much rather have his fellow comedian Stan Boardman. Now he was well funny.

Bernard was once invited to a curry house in on the curry mile, he had lots of friends amongst the Asian community, after his meal the proprieter said "how did you like the 'vindaloo' Bernard", Bernard replied "now I know why Ghandi wore a nappy"

think that sums him up very well, wasn't a saint, but no-way a sinner, also did much for charity all his life n never made a big deal of it. how many stars do that without milking it?

Re: Bernard Manning 76 - Dead

Just watched on sky the beyond the grave thing... i thought he was trying too hard to get everyone to like him and trying to convince them he did nothing wrong.. Other than that he went up another couple of notches in my estimation..

I think it summed up the problems when the alternative comedy people where asking him if he thought he had a duty to his audience re messages blah blah blah... manning was right.. its simple.. they pay a tenner for him to make them laugh and he does... thats it... simple as that...

RIP
