Long overdue.
Many people will forget the reason but that is not sufficient reason not to have a National Remembrance Holiday in honour of those who had their lives taken from them in protecting the nation. After all Good Friday is a bank holiday.

This so-called GREAT country cannot decide whether it can or cannot afford to issue medals for those that it has sent out to die in Afganistan, Iraq and Iran!!
To offer us an extra day off "in remembrance" of those that gave their lives is crap. There is an election coming up - and this is the carrot...........SICK!!!

I agree with busman, this is just another opportunity for Brown and co to bribe the gullible into voting for them. Brown would earn more respect by commiting the government to taking better care of our soldiers and veterans while they are still alive.
