Re: Reluctant?

oh yeah definitley - i do see what people mean
as i have said people often approach me and you can see in their body language that they are coming over to "have a go" but after looking at the picture i have that includes them they are often quite surprized and ask for a copy.
A family potrait is nice but a moment in time captured whilst you are unaware is priceless to most people.
then again if i was sat there zooming in on one person/child clicking away then i would expect a punch in the mouth and for my camera to be dropped in the nearest river lol
but i wouldnt do that lol so on that point i totally agree

- when you see the people in them i am guessing that your first thought is not " oh gosh what an invasion of their privacy"
perhaps you think about what they may have been doing - going to work, about to do shopping, meeting other half for a romantic dinner, where they might be going.
street photogrpahy is not meant as a means to invade privacy it is mant to capture a moment in time that others may look at and have their curiosity raised.
That is a very good point Lisa. I do like looking at old photos, I hope my grand kids will be able to look at the old photos of now that you are taking. If you know what I mean.

Re: Reluctant?

no one seems to object when the paparazzi publish candid photos of some celebrity child, in fact the public lap them up like rabid dogs , seems to me anyone objecting to to their child being photo'd should ask themselves how many times they have looked at pics of Beckhams/Madonnas/ Brangelias kids ........and the answer .."well they are famous" is rubbish , the parents are famous not the kids
