I forgot to say in an earlier post that the firm I worked for which used to supply the Redcap was Daniel Thwaites. At the time the Redcap was a Thwaites' tied house. Now you would think the brewery that owned the said licensed premises would know it's location. Wouldn't you?;)

would have thought Church Parish boundaries would have matched urban boundaries , but guess they don't , I have a cousin who lived up Shadsworth but got married in that Church at Knuzden , which others have pointed out is in Ossy

i live accros from st oswalds at knuzden my post code is bb12by (blackburn) but i pay my tax & come under hyndburn not blackburn.:alright:

What is? I know where St. Oswald's is because my niece got married there. It's not near the Redcap that's for sure! It's "on t'top road" and the Redcap is "on t'main road".

What I find offensive is the fact that Labour controlled Lancashire Council can throw ratepayers money away on nonsensical signs such as "Welcome to Lancashire" (when we're smack in the middle of the county) while at the same time they do not have enough money to keep Church library open.
