Also forgot to mention, bumped into a lady i worked wi fer years, asked how she was doing etc, had a conversation, the end result being we are cousins n neither of us knew,:eek: i have known her 2 younger brothers (cousins) since i was a lad n still see em occasionally, was a very pleasing episode, cos we always got on at work, now i know were they get "Small World" from.:)

Ouch... think thats all I need to say, went well overboard but really needed to celebrate start of 2012 to the extent I went to bed about 10am I think!!! eek

Stayed in, and watched the whole second series of The League of Gentleman.

I spent the New Year period in Benidorm,It was awful,Eight hours a day of clear blue skies and brilliant sunshine.:hothothot:p

When I see Panettone, I think bread and butter pudding. It is very very good in that nursery pudding...with a few addditions of course.

Panettone pah give me bread and butter pudding anyday with lovely crispy bits on the top yum yum yum top quality winter comfort food .

Yes it is.......if I am buying Panettone I wait until well into the new year and buy it at knockdown prices..........and then I will sometimes make bread and butter pudding....though I am trying to give all such things a miss.
I put marmalade on my buttered panettone, I use golden sultanas, cherries, angelica and chopped dried apricots. It is absolutely delicious....with custard or with cream.....and if you are really gluttonous you can have it with all three. When I was out in Brisbane at my sisters I made a great big dish full.......my sisters husband took it to work with him and had all the other chaps on his shift drooling......so I made another dishful to take into work. they wanted to know when I could start work...as their canteen cook:) |
