School closure for HRH wedding

Just found a letter from Rhyddings which goes as follows.....Following confirmation from LCC and the Department of Education, I can now advise that the school will be closed on Friday 29th of April for the additional bank holiday in recognition of The Royal Wedding...... So that will be ALL the schools that are closing then

I would not expect schools to be open on a bank holiday

Re: School closure for HRH wedding

We got one from Hollins to say the school would be closed for the day on Friday 29th and re-open on Wednesday 4th May. It wasn't until you turned over to the back of the letter that you add to factor in Monday is the May Day bank holiday and Tuesday is a staff training day. I thought they had invented a special 120 hour day for the Royal Family

I was planning to spend the day in the Market Hall, enjoying the lavish civic celebrations.

If it's going to be full of pesky kids I might have to reconsider.

I think it works out that the kids are only in school for a total of about 7 days in the whole of April what with Easter & the extra bank holiday - crackin'

Seems a shame to send 'em back at all really.

They should tell them to return in September.
