Re: Snow photos - Dec 2009
Andrew, I will save you the time and give you the details...
E-mail your preferred photo in JPEG format to [email protected] mark the subject field PICTURE COMPETITION only one entry per person is pemitted...you must include your name and address and telephone number. Entries close on January 31st. Once the competition has closed the entries will be whittled down to a shortlist of ten, and then these will be submitted to the readers for their votes to be cast to choose a winner. Good Luck Andrew.......I haven't decided yet whether to enter this comp. I think picture 2 would have a fair chance as it is a well recognised landmark in Accrington, and your picture does make it look very attractive. |
Re: Snow photos - Dec 2009

Re: Snow photos - Dec 2009
AndrewB - I HAVE TO ADMIT IT - I AM JEALOUS!!!!! Your photos are "bob on" - brilliant - best of luck with the Observer Comp (I wonder if someone made a typing error and it should have only read £50, tee hee)
ps. Retlaw, yours is a good one too! |
Re: Snow photos - Dec 2009
Yeah ... reckon Retlaw and AndrewB may go head to head on this one. Still good comp eh Atarah ? £500 .. not bad eh ... and lucky, lucky winner .. may even get a pat on the back from Cllr. Britcliffe seeing as he is the one that launched it ... who is paying the prize money I wonder ... :D

All these of yours are winners Atarah .. just trying to get in the mind of the general public and the judges :
Attachment 15484 .. definitely Accrington (not Hyndburn you notice) as we see it. Attachment 15485 .. Yes, beautiful building .. great historic connections Attachment 15486 .. my favourite personally, but would voters see it this way. Attachment 15487 ... I think this could win. Definitely not this .. .LOL : Attachment 15488 Anyone any thoughts on these ... come on, let's get an Accyweb win !! |
Re: Snow photos - Dec 2009
I really like the one taken in Haworth Park by Atarah too. Wish I'd have traveled up there at the time to take some more photos. Was too busy building snowmen though. :D

It is good though and reflects a building we all recognise ... they have cropped it a little on the width and the colours don't come across as well. Still, I think it is the best and will vote for our Andrew. There is another though which is looking down the main slope of the Coppice of people out and about in the snow, sledging, etc. Bit like a Lowry painting ... like this too. |
