Re: Today in pictures

Dave was correct and Kate my gardener agreed and explained how it came to be there.

The small tree next to the mystery pod is a dogwood tree and the pod had fallen from that and rested stalk down among the fuchsia.
So it wasn't growing there originally.
Funny I've never noticed any before.

I found one more pod still attached to the tree the other one had fallen from.

Nice shot as usual, from the colour of the trees and srubbery, one could be forgiven for thinking it was summer (not nearly winter time).....global warming? :D

We often have a warm sunny spell in early October. It is known as St Luke's little summer.
(St Luke's day is October 18th)

Yes, it does. I used to have a weeks holiday mid October(when I was working, that is) and it was always balmy.
You have to admit that over the last few days it is definitely cooler in the mornings and evenings......what you would expect of Autumn.

1 & 2. A couple of waterfalls from Ingleton.
3. A plane spotting Mallard on Foxhill Nature Reserve.
4. A try at the night sky, pesky moon did me no favours with this.
