Today was a day I had to tie on my flat cap, the wind came whistling down the plains. Dean Clough on a day of clouds and patchy sun.

After my jaunt of road over the moors of Walsden I had a look around the village school and church I attended.

No 1. The Eastern moor taken from the west on top of Summit tunnel. Over the hill is Blackstone Edge, from Littleborough to Sowerby Bridge.
No 2. Making my way back down.
No 3. Cricket field through the chimneys.
No 4. Gordon Rigg garden and tat centre.
N0.5 St Peters Church school, now converted in to five luxury appartments which were lucky to get shown around by a resident. £250K each. My day paid £200 for our house across to way in 1939.
No 6. Church spire from behind the school.
No 7. Silly shot from graveyard, school chimneys.
No 8. Chimneys of old vicarage, now a very posh private residence.
No 9. View from old school playground.. There wasn't even a fence when I went there. We would loose a ball in the canal and stand by the side throwing stones to get it back, and not a child was harmed.
No 10. Coming down from the moor we passed Bobby Ball's old place. It used to be a run down farmhouse.

I like number 7. It isn't a silly shot at all.
In fact next year for the Lancashire photo comp...if you enter that one you might just win :D

Today becomes last Friday evening, as we visited Spring Wood, Whalley. It was a specific visit to view the Bluebells, but I couldn't help but notice that this year the Wild Garlic has the dominant position and appears to have spread into Bluebell regions and overpowered them in places.

Made a flying visit to Accrington on Saturday and was blessed with sunshine so had a quick walk around the centre.

Does anyone know why opening the new Lidl store has been delayed?

I am still a day behind, yesterday at Jackhouse Reservoir, it was windy, and threatening rain.

1.Pendle Hill is ever present on the way down.
2. There are lots of lambs about, although they are larger than my last visit down here.
3. Looking in the direction of "The Nab".
4. The breaks in the clouds are making patches of sun rake over the landscape.
5.Arrival at the wet bit.
6. If it's not wet you are not doing it right.
7. Cock Bridge, and some very big boulders.
8. Passing time stacking stones on the hull of my upturned canoe.
9. There must be some water pressure to move these boulders about.
10. Heading back up the hill, and looking at the rolling green bits.

A great panoramic view in #1! I really like the stacked river stones too :)

So where did I go, Hameldon Woods, the Bluebells are at full pelt at the moment, the only disappointing thing, scramble bikes have, and still are as far as I know driving through the blooms and ripping up large drifts. Anyway I found enough to photograph, so as you would expect when you go down the woods to photograph the Bluebells, there are Bluebells and lots of the woods, with just a moistening of a wet bit.

It's such a joy to see the bluebells out in all their glory - number 9 is my fave :)

I know it isn't green fields, rushing streams or waves crashing on the shore, but for now..... this is all I have.

I do like the heart shadow idea - it will make a really nice wedding card :)

A windy day, but it gave lovely cloudscapes! I'd be thrilled to have taken any of these :)
