Today was a visit to Spring Wood, The pay and display machines are fitted, signage in place, but still wrapped in plastic, so its only days now. The Bluebells are all but finished, the Ransoms are passed their best, and making way for Ferns and grasses.

1. Ransoms making the best of dappled shade.
2. Despite the eradication of the Rhododendrons policy some still remain in small areas.
3. A nice flower, but the plant is invasive.
4. Also it is one of the only bold flower colours at the moment.
5. An old wives tale, when cows lie down they are tired.
6. Ransoms in a wood pile.
7. A different wood pile, same effect.
8. Stood here the smell of Garlic is strong.
9. Red Campion, although not invasive still manages a few colourful clumps.
10 Just a quick check under the bridge to see if I can find any !

If that is the case, then my job is done. Thanks.

It's good to see your Ma home and looking good, Margaret. Your photos for the competition are great - they should have received recognition :)

It would have been good to know how the judges came to their decisions. That said, there were a lot of very very good pictures, so it cannot have been an easy job.

Yes Ma is improving, but she will stand watching......I am sure she will be pushing the boundaries when my back is turned. :D

I'm glad to see your mum looking so well too - parents - they are irreplaceable!

Glad to see someone made it to the final evening of the Photo exhibition - I spoke to my aunt today but unfortunately she didn't make it as they were away. She was very enthusiastc about some of the film nights and workshop events though. You photos look fab framed Margaret - as to the voting my aunt more or less expressed what I heard from you all here - I think a popular jury would have come up with different winners but then we are not "artistes" - just amateur photography enthusiasts ;) o.O

Thank you Dianne...you are right.....you only ever get one mum....and they are to be celebrated every day, not just Mothers Day.
There were some stunning pictures, I do hope the owners go and collect them.....even if they then sell them.
The donations were to enable the event to be repeated next year.
I will no doubt enter that one too.....but not for the winning....for the taking part, and for seeing the photographs of others.
It does stimulate you to improve.

I would love to have been able to take part more - Adam bent the rules a little to accept my pics!

Attachment 49132A selection of recent photos - first 2 from Lake Garda - a duck on the lake and a peek through a barber shop window, a couple with reflections taken at the Parco Sigurtà - an amazing garden which I visited on the way back from the lake and the others are taken in the center of Cremona - was experimenting with reflections of the old buildings in some of the violin-makers windows.

Ooh, so many of my favourite things in that selection.
Reflections, bikes, architecture, people watching.
Lovely Dianne!

Lovely shots Dianne. Is that a stone turtle I see on the wall in number 4?

Some of my favourite subjects too, I will post some more from the amazing gardens at Parco Sigurtà next ( were the reflections in the ponds were taken) - I love a well managed garden to wander round and this one has loads to offer :)

I am thinking of upgrading my Sony DSLRA450 to a Sony A77II. I may put my DSLRA 450 up for sale on Accyweb if I don't get a good part ex on it.

Were some of those pics take at Llanberis Frank?
Some of that scenery looks familiar to me.
