I would bet the shareholders benefitting from any that might appear in Accrington would be from outside the Accrington area.

I really dislike the wind turbines.....they spoil the skyline in a similar way to electricity pylons, they are ineffective in producing electricity.....I would prefer hydro power every time....Clean, green and in many cases unobtrusive.

Today in Pictures, a wet experience from start to finish, drizzle, the one that really wets you, was present all through our expedition.

1. A farmer sets off to feed the turbines.
2. Oak Gall, a result of the gall wasp inserting its egg in the plants bud, the result is the tree protects itself by forming the gall, and in doing so protects the wasp from predators.
3. Despite the weather the place is packed.
4. The overflow from what was the top reservoir as it feeds into Jackhouse.
5. The stream that feeds the overflow, which in turn feeds the reservoir.
6. Another tributary to the stream that feeds the stream that feeds.........you get the gist.
7. If it stands still for any length of time it gets a coating of moss and lichens.
8. I just put that wood there to get my camera out.
9. The central island that is sanctuary for the wildlife, and nesting ground for some of the birds.
10. The stream that fed the main stream that went over the overflow, into jackhouse comes out here, it now heads for Oswaldtwistle but that is another story.

Today in Picture, it was snowing when I set off, it stopped for a bit started again, and that is how the expedition went.

1. I'm over here taking a snap of over there.
2. The path is up there, and I am down here getting my feet wet.
3. I was going to go up woodnook vale path, but for some reason I got distracted, I am now following the wet bits of Priestly Clough, I am easily distrac..................ooh look at that.
4. It is heavily snowing at this point, although the camera is not picking it up, I am stood in the wet bits again.
5. Time to get back on the footpath, its up there on the left.
6. There, I am back up and on the path again.
7. The reason for my walk today, Shoe Mill.
8. Apart from remnants of a few buildings, you don't get a sense of the amount of industry that occupied this space.
9. Approaching "five arches" I have no idea what this chute did, it appears to transport a stream across this stream for some reason.
10. "Five arches" and time to turn around.

I dont think we could cope with the amount of snow and low tempreatures you get over there, it is chaos over here if we get a bit of slush.

I'm not trying to be mean, but that type of snow looks like the fake snow used in movies! Still you get some pretty shots, A. Number 7 in particular :)
