I bet there are icicles in Ma's backyard right now....but I haven't been out back.....already had one fall......i don't want to risk my old bones again.
Might not be lucky enough to fall on something soft next time.

Three years ago I was probably looking around abandoned buildings :D

Honestly,I've not seen a 'icicle' for about a decade,I remeber when we use to get dangerously large ones that hung over the heads of joe public as they walked under the railway arches in town.
I may have to go on the hunt later while I'm grabbing a few moon pics...

....watch this space ;)

Early this morning I went to check on the kiln that I fired at the guild last night.
At the front door I noticed icicles. Grabbing my cell phone (all I had with me) I went on the hunt. The back door wouldn't open, so I stumbled through knee deep snow and minus 14 degrees to get these. Here you go, Jason! They would look prettier later in the day when the sun hits them.

I had the same idea ... as I sipped on hot choc and rum after my morning shovel ... have to shovel out a play pen for my munchkin in the back yard.:D Great minds think alike, eh.

I like looking at the pics, but I am heartily glad that it is in your back yard and not mine!

No BBQ's for the Canadians this week then eh ;)

In the good old days we had snow like that much more than the sprinkles we get today and we got it on a regular basis too...global warming? Hmmm.

Nowadays, we only get a few inches max and the ruddy stuff melts within a day or two.
Back in the day folk cleared snow off their paths and the pavement with nothing more than a hand shovel.
They'd throw the unwanted snow into the road, obviously we can't do this nowadays as the number of parked cars has increased dramatically.

Eeee the good old days..... no-one had central heating, just a coal fire in one room wishing and hoping it would warm the upstairs.....sadly that wasn't the case, much like a few members, I too had to scrape ice from the 'inside' of my bedroom window :D

Re: Today in pictures

I made ice lollies on the inside of my bedroom window bottom.
Ma used to put a hot brick in our bed to warm it up....or an oven sheet
These were removed before we got into bed.
The only time a fire was lit in the bedroom was if someone in the house was seriously ill.
