No 2. Making my way back down.
No 3. Cricket field through the chimneys.
No 4. Gordon Rigg garden and tat centre.
N0.5 St Peters Church school, now converted in to five luxury appartments which were lucky to get shown around by a resident. £250K each. My day paid £200 for our house across to way in 1939.
No 6. Church spire from behind the school.
No 7. Silly shot from graveyard, school chimneys.
No 8. Chimneys of old vicarage, now a very posh private residence.
No 9. View from old school playground.. There wasn't even a fence when I went there. We would loose a ball in the canal and stand by the side throwing stones to get it back, and not a child was harmed.
No 10. Coming down from the moor we passed Bobby Ball's old place. It used to be a run down farmhouse.

Some nice shots of your trip down memory lane, Gremlin. I particularly like number four :)

I must admit the white garlic flowers look pretty amongst the bluebells, but it's a bit disconcerting to see them taking over. Lovely shots, davemac :)

Thanks, Turtle. It's a Samsung Galaxy S4 running A Better Camera.

I only use that app for macros - I use the stock camera app for everything else.

Here's a pic just in from my daughter in law over in Cincinnati showing the state a postcard that I sent my grandaughters from the very same country you are in Frank arrived to them.
Don't think it was sheep that were responsible.

Sadly the blue tits who were showing an interest in our nest box did not move in. I till see them around and they happily go on the bird feeders when I am working only a few feet away.

We do have some sparrows nesting in the trees and this chap was being fed this morning so I assume that it is one of their recent brood.

Beware of booking cottages through Trip Advisor. We read the reviews on this on in Capel Gwyn on Anglesey and booked it. Since we booked it had two bad reviews and the owner laughed it off as being from rival cottage owners. It is very damp and cold. The cottage can be seen on
Holiday Cottage in Rhosneigr, Llanfaelog with beach/lake nearby and balcony/terrace

Here are a few of my pics for your comments

Nice presentation Frank. Can you post it on Trip advisor?
I had a similar experience once and left the cottage after two nights and went into a hotel.
I send a dozen photos to Hoseasons when I got home but they refused to do anything about it because I should have notified them as soon as I saw the state of the place.
The book case was full of mouldy books, all priced in Pound shilling and pence.
There was brown sugar in a basin which had solidified in to one lump. A jam butty down the back of the settee. The list was endless.
It puts you off renting the cottages again. Like you we used them because we took a dog.

We have always had good cottages up to now in Scotland and Wales. The photos are only a few. I have put my review on Trip Advisor, but like Accyweb, I can only post ten pics. There has been two bad reviews on trip advisor since we booked, but the owner has laughed them off saying it was from his rivals.I am prepared to take it further. I have contacted Trading Standards in Anglesey so say it was not fit for purpose.
