Look who came into my garden today. Apologies for the quality, the pics were taken through the rain on the window.

I have no idea what it is, is it a rare sight ?

What kind of bird is this? It looks like one of our Southern Ontario Nuthatches.

Spring has surely sprung in our part of the world. Glorious, isn't it?!

Our final trip for this week involved a journey south in the rain. M6 and M65, bypassed Accrington and made our way to Harle Syke. Queens Mill Museum has been on the agenda for a while and yesterday was the day.

This place is well worth a visit and a good time was had by all. The day was rounded off by a trip through the Trough of Bowland and an ice cream at Dunsop Bridge.

Did you get a chance to see the big steam engine running, It's named Peace.
I made the big crank bolts for it during a refit in 1961.

Such a glorious day here in Southern Ontario. We've suffered long and hard. But today it really felt like Spring! The last time I tried to upload photos from my iPad, I lived to regret it. All photos came out rotated wrongly somehow. But heck (Hell even!) today I feel like trying it again. So here goes...

A walk around the park (trying to exercise more)
Maple leaves just starting to burst forth.
A bowl I made fresh from the kiln
A big nest for a big bird...
I wish there were more prosperous farms like this.
A Spring time drive with the top down
An exuberant Turtle

A big bowl I made ... A young lad in the studio hung back hoping he would see me throw one of these. I was heading out of the door, but rather than disappoint him I buckled down and made one for him to see how it was done. It made it through to survive firing, and here it is :)

These prosperous farms are fast disappearing from populated areas. It does my soul good to see them.

They ran the engine several times and demonstrated some of the looms and other machinery.
