Just the one from me today. I had a 10mm lens professionally cleaned and decided to try it out on the upper floor of the Arndale car park. It's a wide angle without the fish eye effect, useful for groups in wedding photos and similar.

Accrington Library including some of the photo walls in the exhibition.
I would have taken more of the photo walls, but my battery was exhausted. I normally have a spare, but not today!
First four are panels in the stained glass window.
Number 5 Has Dianne's submission on it
The last picture is the winning entry.

Re: Today in pictures

there were a lot of very good pictures on display. I didn't care much for any of the top ten placed by the judges.
I wondered what criteria they had used to decide on the merit of the pictures.
A beautifully executed picture of a bird of prey...flying, has to beat a static unlit light bulb.

That said, it must have been a monumental task to choose the winners.

If we had worn name badges I would have known who you were, I was stood next to you when this shot was taken.

Yes, that would have been good...name badges....even just sticky little labels.
I t would have been lovely to meet the photographers and know who they were.

Thanks for your photos Margaret and Markuze - one of my photos is on them - at least I know how it looks "in print"! (The snowy photo with blue sky - lowest on the display).

I was so undecided about what to send - maybe I stayed with something a little too banal - given that an unlit light-bulb was a merit-worthy subject :D

Just a few photos for Dianne with notes from the garages who worked on it.

Just realised you'd seen it was my photo - thanks so much Margaret - obviously I won't make it over to see the display but it is nice to see where mine was!

I wasn't sure about the winning entry at first sight, from what I can see in your photo - I'm sure it involves great technique but it is a bit clinical and "cold" !

That's amazing Russell - how did you find all that out? I am keeping it on the off-chance I see the car and it's owner again - just in case they don't know!

Thank-you so much :)

just type the registration into Google and look for Vandpcars and there are dozens of photo and copies of all the work done on it.

I couldn't see the other one......it was Davemac who pointed out your pic to me.
I will go again and see if I can spot your other one....and I will take pics of my favourites.
There were print outs of which pics belonged to who, but they were quite difficult to follow.

Maybe next year they will do it differently.

I went to RAF Coningsby today, hoping to see the new Battle of Britain Typhoon, but its not finished yet and locked away out of sight.
Anyway, there were some Typhoons out and about including some from the Italian Air Force.
