Nothing doing with all the cloud, I think gremlin has an infra red camera, I think they can take pictures through clouds.

Today in Pictures, one of those days when I was playing out, and didn't want to go home for my tea, so I didn't.

1. Calf Hey reservoir from half way up a hill.
2. Another of the reservoir at sea level, well reservoir level really.
3. This path once linked all the small holdings together, there are stone mounds all along this path.
4. The wet bit is the second reservoir, Ogden.
5. The tree that has been shaped by the environment.
6. There are many streams feeding into the reservoir system.
7. Walls and gate posts are dotted about the area.
8. This Lichen grows in abundance on the trees around here, there are too many to be specific as to variety, best guess Reindeer Lichen.
9. Another of those random walls that don't make sense now, but must have done when the area was densely populated.
10. And finally Calf Hey from the top end, When I arrived just after 2pm the area was mucked up with folk, now at 5.30pm there are very few, so it must be time for me to go as well, but today was just a pleasure to be out, and in one of my favourite areas, so as I head home I am tired but with lifted spirits.

Beautiful day so took a walk up the coppice and snapped a few..

Today in Pictures was a walk down to the river, it was a slow walk there and back as I kept stopping to take in the view of the rolling fields.

1. The fields now contain Sheep with their Lambs.
2. I think because my dog has a bit of a look of a sheep they come over to investigate rather than run away.
3. Pendle Hill is always present.
4. Rolling fields are a feature of this walk.
5. A clear blue sky gives bold shadows.
6. It looks like over there the sky is not as blue.
7. Soon this view will be framed by the greenery on the trees.
8. And here we are at the wet bit.
9. Now the weather is taking up it is time to start dipping it in the water again.
10. Pushing off from the bank I couldn't help but think, it would be nice if I had a boat.

April 6th 1945, the liberation of Oldenzaal Holland took place by British & Canadian troops. The "Keep them rolling" re-enactment group celebrated that event today.

Motorcycle outriders, MP's & Infantry (x2) - Jeeps & trailers (x2) - Fordson WOT6 of the British Armoured Corp - M5 (half track) Personnel carrier - Maxson M45 Anti Aircraft 50. Cal Quad (Meat grinder) - British Sexton II SPG (self propelled gun) - The ubiquitous Sherman - M5A1 Stuart T8 reccon veh.

Gotta love those Dutch ... they don't forget. Every year they send thousands of tulip bulbs to Ottawa ... And when I was last in Holland wearing my "I AM CANADIAN" t-shirt I met lots of folks who wanted to buy me a beer.:D

Never, the history is passed on through the generations unerringly. And like you, when visiting we were always greeted with friendship & Beers in continuing gratitude for the sacrifices of our forefathers. :)
