Well hope they change the ad to free delivery at selected stores because Accy Iceland have stopped all deliveries indefinately atm, as i found out the hard way [again], luckily with knowing the staff well & a regular they least informed me before i did a big shop albeit a little annoyed i couldnt do my full weeks shop but get as much as i could carry home :( which meant costing more for less!!!! Plus cant really get a taxi with the shop as taxi cant pick up unless on Union street, so now another re-think on my weekly shop. They say its due to staffing problems & the manager has fluffed up being the causation, but they dont realise the business they could lose from the folk that dont have cars & their free delivery service eeked a way for us to do a big shop & not have to worry about getting it home - especially where the shop is situed.

Maybe Tesco & Asda want to get their online payments sorted out by accepting range of debit cards so that some of us could actually use the facitlity:(

I know its another 'tax the poorer members of society' type thing but ther is also this

https://www.3vcash.com/help-charges.html

basically you prepay and get a 'visa' number which you can use. the prepayment lasts for between 8 and 12 weeks and there is a small charge £3.50 per card which can be a value from £20 to £200(basically between 1.75% and a whopping 17.5% depending on how much you can afford to prepay). There is a admin charge if you don't spend it all within the period.

These aren't ideal but are one possible solution.

PS I genuinely don't mean anything derogatory with the first line, I know that peoples circumstances dictate things often well beyond their own control

Sheesh ... and I thought someone had a bad travel experience in Rekjavik! Sounds like having the food delivered beats the hell out of putting on the old snowshoes and shooting and clubbing defenseless animals, and hanging them on trees, hoping that the not-so-defenceless animals don't get at them before you do.

Actually it's not all that bad. Deer have now been trained to commit suicide in one's freezer.

Why can't you phone a taxi to pick you up on the Arndale carpark outside Iceland just before you go to pay?
