The DC01 is the older one I think. The older ones were better than the naff ones they make now. My sister had a DC01 for years.

They are interesting to pull to bits I will admit. I always do say if some Chinese tart can put it together I will be damned if I can't pull it apart again :D:rolleyes::D

Yeah I had a DC01 so knew what I was getting and my DC01 was over 10 years old, in fact come to think of it, it was closer to 12/13 years old

Only joking but do get a lot of dust with being on the main drag through town so thought if I got a little lightweight it would make the job easier;)

I hope I'm not tempting fate but my Dyson is brilliant and has never gone wrong (touches wood). I've had it about 7 years and it is now on its 2nd new drive belt. That's the only thing I've had to replace and the long hose is great. Mine's a DC04 by the way.

not at all lindsay, as I said earlier in this thread. I had a DC01 for about 12 years from new and it was getting very tired :D so through a contact on here who has reconditions and fixes dysons I went to have a look and ended up picking another DC01 and its like new but cost a 10th of the original price :)

Am I remembering correctly that the first one you had off him did not work?
