I have a DC7 Animal, a pale lounge carpet, and a black cat.
Before I got the DC, I was shampooing the carpet every 2 months.
After getting the DC I realised that the carpet had been having black fur embedded deep in the pile which it now doesn't have, and life is easier.

I hope you have your little nose filters in when you empty it.

Bag less machines are nice and hygienic with the hepa filters and all that until you come to empty them into the bin. Then all that dust can escape again.

I do not see any dustcloud - maybe it is all trapped in the large clumps of shed fur.
The dust I used to see collected by my old machine was finer and did escape from the bag when I was disposing of it.
Maybe I am now trapping fine dust another way-
my Goodsphere/Pureair machines contantly 'wash' the air and do collect a fine sediment in the water (changed daily)
