@ flashy. If you go through 6 litres a week then its 2 pints a day. More than enough to buy fresh. The milk from my milkman lasts a week without going off .

Ian i was reading about the cravendale milk, that works out a lot cheaper than the stuff i buy, i may be investing in that in the future PLUS i can recycle those cravendale cartons you can't recycle the uht one's (not unless you take them down to tesco) and i'm well into my recycling

Re: The Food Credit Crunch

OK just had my online shopping delivered (bloody chickenpox, cant wait til he's got rid of the lurgi) and we have the following offers:

Tea/Coffee 2 for £4 (200g coffee)
Cooked meats (3 for £3) (200g wafer thin meats)
Cereal 2 for £2 (asda 350g boxes)
Prepared salad 2for£1
Clover 2 for £2
Hovis bread 2 for £2
Warburtons fruit loaf 2 for £1.50
Bernard Mathew Chicken breast 2 for £2 should have been £5

So now you all know whats on my shopping list lol

Actually seems quite good this time, got about 15 bags worth of shopping for 70 quid so either my spending habits have changed or Asda have sent me a sympathy 'cant get out the house' thing, like red cross sent the prisoners of war.

ok bad simile, am very bored.....going now

Yes...go for it. We do a lot of our shop there...also go to Lidl for some things too.
I have always found the stuff to be of good quality......though it is mostly their own brands.

Re: The Food Credit Crunch

I think the last time i went to Aldi was when beans were 8p a tin...lol

IS it posh now they have done it up?

Margaret Pilkington 06-06-2008 19:58

Re: The Food Credit Crunch

Well, I have to say that beans are no longer 8p a tin......and yes I guess it has gone a bit upmarket......but I bought a bunch of roses there last week for £1.89 and they have lasted really well.
I can't say that I have been disappointed with any of their products.
