Slow Cooker

My big sis has just bought me a slow cooker for my birthday, i make a lot of stews and home cooked food anyway but i just usually use a casserole dish and slam it in the oven.

She bought it me to save on gas, it doesnt use much leccy either so its really economical

what i was wondering was.....other than stews and casseroles, what else can i cook in it?

:D

If you google ' crockpot recipes ' you will find hundreds of recipes
I recall a thread where TinMonkey asked just the same question

Lol, I'm just this minute going upstairs to box mine up for the charity shop, along with a foot spa.

Mine was a Christmas present when I was a student at Liverpool in 1984. It was very useful, and made good caseroles whilst I was busy with a Leg O'Mutton sleeve. Since then it's been on a trip to London, Glasgow, and now to Ossy, and has never been used.

After not using it for quarter of a century it might be time to part company.

Is it a little one?
Mine is too big for my needs

PS vibrating foot spas are great used dry for foot and leg cramps - mine is permenantly plugged in ready at bedside

No, it's quite big, and the slow cooker lifts off and underneath is hot plate thingy you can griddle on. It's in good condition considering it's age. It anyone wants it, or the foot spa (used once), if you pm me before Tuesday your welcome to them.

There is a small one in B&M down town, just big enough for two: I am thinking of getting one:

They had them at B&M in Morecambe during the summer.
Darwendosser got one - £10
When I went and asked, they had sold out.
It looks good too -shiny steel - I may come out of hibernation to get one

I've got one of the big oval ones, it's just gone on now, with broth in it. Will have it for tea tomorrow and freeze the rest. :)
