Sad news but not unexpected, this season will be the Vulcans last, a few upcoming dates here - Vulcan XH558 - Weekly Newsletter hopefully more will be added.
I`ve also read somewhere, but can`t find it right now that it will do a fly around the country.

I will make sure that I see it somewhere. Never served on a Vulcan Sqdn but have been there when there was a scramble - the noise was incredible.
Off to London tomorrow and the lad is taking me to the IWM - looking forward to that as it was in the '70s when I was last there.

Woodford isn`t far from here so might see it fly overhead on its way to Carlisle.

The straight forward route would take it pretty close to Hyndburn/Blackburn. However, that would also take it pretty close to M/C Airport local control so there would probably be a diversion around that. I will make some enquiries and see if I can get some detail on the planned route.

Many thanks for publishing the above link and thereby reminding me about the "last chance". Got off my backside and saw the Vulcan (and the BBMF) at Welshpool today. Very impressive display by the Vulcan and surprisingly long. Last time I saw a Vulcan flying was back in 195x at an Air Show where in the morning it was parked on the ground and you could walk round it (but not too close!) and in the afternoon it simply took-off and flew away - no display as such.

If anyone is thinking of going somewhere to see it stop thinking and just go, you will not be disappointed.

Possibly the direct route from Carlisle to M/C Airport approach. I think Barton is now known as City Airport - looks as though it could even be a grass strip.
