Still got the blues!

I know after christmas people get down and fedup but by February im usually ok, but this year I feel like s it. I have loads of ideas of things I would like to do, but cannot seem to be able to motivate myself what so ever. I dont work anymore as my partner and I decided that it would be best to take some time off for the kids so im in all day but all I seem to do when I have dropped them off at school is come home and sleep.
As anyone got any advise for me on how to get myself going?

Re: Still got the blues!

Instead of going straight home after dropping kids off why not go for a walk.

Re: Still got the blues!

Try swimming or something or pop round and see a mate, have lunch.. This gloomy weather sure does not help. Feels like there's a tarpaulin over the world.

Re: Still got the blues!

You are suffering from a bit of depression I think. If you realise this yourself, then that's half the battle. It's hard, I know, but you must force yourself if you can. A visit to the Doc might help. I wish you well.

Re: Still got the blues!

Never mind you don't want to be a nuisance, you get back to the doctors and get yourself sorted .... that's what GP's are paid to do hun.

What about a short college course to get you socialising again during the day?

Do you have a couple of girlfriends you can call on to have a girls night, wine, chocolate and a right good night of belly laughter usually works.

Re: Still got the blues!

The above advise is good. You really must force yourself, it's the only way out of that black hole. And you never know, you might even enjoy yourself. Go on, give it a go. One thing though, I personally would wean myself off of any tablets, slowly!

You are not being a nuisance - you must go back to the Doctors.

If you don't it could only fester and get worse, recognising that you have a problem is getting you half way to solving the problem.

Re: Still got the blues!

Never consider depression as something other than what it is. It is a serious condition that can distroy your life and those around you. Go to the GP and tell him how you feel and ask for help and dont take no for an answer.
Start with a visit to swimming with some chums and build up slowley to other activities and in time the tablets will not be required. Its a case of nice and easy .
