Re: Years Gone By
I remember Blower's. One of the cheapest shops in Accy. Used to shop there and then go on to redman's and get fish paste and oven bottom muffins. Had two brothers who worked at Bridges fireplaces. Baileys was where the money flew about the chop over your head in little cups. Loved it. Happy days.

Re: Years Gone By
Used to shop for vegies at Catlows and had a crush on the elder brother. Vegies were fresh and a good price. Put together with a leg of lamb from in the market hall with some oxo gravy-oh, boy!

The Coop at the corner of dutton st was formerly Woolies , they used to fire cash up brass tubing on the ceiling used to fascinate me as a kid. Then went to Moffat's with mum and as somebody said on here they had things on wires with the cash in flying around. Used to go to the Coop for milkchecks upstairs they sold furniture up there.
