Any old AM CB radio users out there?
In the early 80's (illegal AM) CB radio was in widespread use locally and nationally. It provided a great social scene for users who had meets at local venues several times a week. There were enough local people at it to fill Martholme Grange. and The Sett End, to name but two. All age groups mixed together and there was never any hassle at those venues.
Sadly it all came to an end after a few glorious years when FM CB radio became legal and every little kid got one for Christmas. Due to its illegal nature most people kept their real identity secret. I was one of them - Red Tape was my handle - are there any more 'good buddies' about? 10/10 till we do it again |

Re: Any old AM CB radio users out there?
When I was first introduced to CB by Rainbow Warrier and Beano we were listening to a "LP" by Boxcar Willie, and as I couldn't think of a good handle, they chose "Boxcar Willie" for me. It was a real laugh in those days, riding about "Brickhouse" in your "wrapper" looking out for the Busbys and the Smokeys. BIG TEN FOUR, good buddies.

Re: Any old AM CB radio users out there?
Awww the old Aunt Mary now that brings back some memories. Mostly good but some not so good.
We had one of the best set ups in Preston. It helped to pass on those lonely nights when Mick was at work and Kids were in bed. Some times I would still be sat there mike in hand when Mick came home. When I couldn't be bothered to modulate i would be sitting on the side ear-wigging. Youve spoke to the best. Now speak to the rest. Take care coz i care bud. We left, we right, we up, we down, we in we out, we gone. 10.10 breaker, break, your gone. |
