Apparently she went to get a few T shirts from a print shop in the town centre but she didn't have her purse with her and the boss kicked her out and told her to stop wasting time.

Didn't realise Giftprint had been open that long, oh how time flies :D

Would this book cover Queen Elizabeth (the Queen Mum) and hubby George's visit to Accrington?

It would have been at the time when Sir William Wiggins Cocker was mayor.

The reason I ask is the Sir William lived at Glen Wold on Queens Road at the time and the royal party dropped in for a cuppa. Apparently Manchester Corporation installed a posh bathroom especially for the visit!

Bringing back an old thread. Regarding royal visits. Does anybody remember the Princes Royal. The old one not Ann.
In Accy in the early sixties. I am sure she went to St Christopher's school.
