Re: The Games we played
had to smile the other day when I went out to the mail box , a bunch of the local kids were playing out with a skipping rope , the young lasses had their little brothers turning the rope and then trying to teach them to use/twirl two ropes ......first time I've seen it in years, needless to say I didn't recognize any of the songs , don't think "the big ship sails on the ally ally O " is well known in California
maybe a memory blank or a brain aneurysm , but I think that was one of the skipping songs the girls sang when I was kid .....maybe accy web users of a 'certain age' can set me straight ;) :D YouTube - Big Ship Sails - Kate Rusby |
Re: The Games we played
Think this was sung to some sort of 'catching' game Steeljack. Like two peope make an arch and people walk under it and are caught. Or was it the one where someone leant against a wall with one arm and you walked under that in a joined up line ... maybe that was to the 'London Bridge' song ??
Haha .. half a memory better than none I suppose. |
