Breaking the Ice.

Been watching some youngsters this morning trying to break the ice on the lodge at the back of my house. Why is this such fun ? Treading in shallow frozen puddles and listening to that musical crunch. Bet you all used to lick the pieces you broke off. Haven't seen an icicle for years, am I not looking in the right places ?
Just wish the kids would stop pinching my pebbles from garden to do the skimming trick, keep trying to tell em not tidal .. have been put there with loving care

Start worrying when they are after something bigger.

Re: Breaking the Ice.

Oh Spuggie .. you so cynical, was just trying to bring a few happy childhood nostalgic moments to people's lives on this very cold Sunday afternoon. You have to spoil it by suggesting they might not be just having fun !! I enjoy my Peter Pan moments now and then, so bog off my thread and let in the romantics ..

Re: Breaking the Ice.

On the contarary I was implying your bin lid for a sledge when it snows.
Now that would be happy kids. They could use it as a shield in a snowball fight.
