Re: Windows 10
i dont know if they have reversed the decision as of yet because it dosnt effect me so i havnt checked but before teh launch of windows 10 there was a lot of complaining about when you upgrade to windows 10 your legitimate windows product key would be deactivated making it useless if you decided to revert back to windows 7 or 8
if this still stands and you want to revert back to win 7 or 8 check you can find alternative methods to activate your product before doing so |
Re: Windows 10
I've been at my brother in law's today. He updated to 10, can't access his e mails, his printer isn't connecting and he's got a message about that 'C' whatever it is not right.
He uses it for his business so it's a serious problem for him. Oh joy! |
Re: Windows 10
He can go back what he had before.

Re: Windows 10
I've just emailed him(he can still get e mails on his tablet). He's going to try it.
Thanks, gpick24, I'll let you know how he goes on. In the meantime I'll leave well alone and stay with 8.1! |
Re: Windows 10
That makes good sense.
Let others work out the bugs, the gremlins(not you Russell, sit down:)) the glitches. We can join when they have all bee ironed out. |
Re: Windows 10
Could someone please enlighten me as to how Win10 is downloaded? I don't mean how you reserve a copy – I've done all that. What I mean is does it just trickle in quietly in the background like the regular updates or do they send you an address to get it from or whatever?
My reason for asking is very simple, unlike you lucky folks who obviouly have access to fibre, out here in the sticks my typical download speed is very slow about 150kbs. So something about the size of a DVD (which I guess it is) is liable to take upwards of a week. |

Re: Windows 10
Everything is working fine on me laptop
my Brother A3 printer works fine and email is ok its just finding where they have put everything like folders downloads and other trivial things :) so all in all a painless experience for once I was expecting problems but non so far:D |
Re: Windows 10
Up to now I've had only one little problem with Win10.
I have Microsoft money to keep an eye on finances and stocks, I had to reinstall Internet explorer before it would run. I had previously deleted IE in favour of Google Chrome which I still use. My printer/scanner/fax which is also WiFi works as usual and everything else seems fine. I don't have a game of any description installed, in fact I have deleted the ones which come with Windows, so I can't comment on how Win10 affects games. The way I can just ask the PC a question or to open a program or email is amusing but the novelty soon wore off. It's taken a few sessions with the PC to get used to the new layout but altogether I'm pleased with it. One thing Win8 was noted for was that it didn't always connect to WiFi first time and Win 10 is there straight away. |
