Re: Windows 10

Just gone through all this post and thought of a couple things not yet mentioned. When Windows 8 came out it caused a storm world wide due to its flaws, several countries refused to entertain it and wrote their own OS (widely discussed on the internet). Windows 10 was initially designed as an OS for mobile phones (again from internet). I do especially like all the comments from Less and agree with him. PS I have not left WindowsXP

apple are worse they pester you to install updates that when you do make your phone behave badly so you think you need a new phone

the amount for people i have helped backdate their i phones is a lot and once backdated the phones have worked properly again

apple are way more sneaky and know their customers in that they will buy garbage for a premium price and wont ask questions as to why their phone dosnt work properly especially if they get the update released just before a new model phone is announced

Exactly the reason I don`t want to update my phone, I`m in the last month of my contract and I know for sure that as soon as I update the software it will start playing up, it`s so annoying though, every day it pesters me to update. This will be my last ever I phone because of it.

Re: Windows 10

Well yesterday Windows did an update.
I weeded the KB3035583 out of the updates and set it to do the updates I wanted.
This it did.......it did a restart and what do you think?
It had loaded the update I didn't want.....so for the 11th time I have uninstalled KB3035583.
It is a right royal pest....plus my security system keeps jogging my arm to tell me I have security updates not downloaded...and when I look it is the Windows 10 download.
Yes Less.....I know you told me so!

It gives me no pleasure in this case to be correct.:(

That looks nothing like my screen Less.:)
I only have one post it note on my screen.
It says 'Avoid Windows 10 - don't download KB3035583'
And I actually don't need the reminder....the number of this update is burned into my brain!

That isn't supposed to demonstrate your screen now, it's the way it will look after you are finally forced to use windows 10, the post it's are there so you don't have to look at windows 10 on your screen.

I foolishly downloaded Windows 10 , I struggled at first but "coped". My son ( who lives out of town ) went on to my PC played a few games , since then I can only use his password as it has removed all my details , and my printer no longer prints , but yet I can photocopy from it. I am at an absolute loss . When I asked my son what he used , he told me he went into x box live ???????

Can you do a system restore to a date before your son played on it?

Has he created his own user profile? If so, and assuming he didn`t delete yours, you can log out of his and back into yours.

Ultimate Outsider: Using GWX Control Panel to Permanently Remove the 'Get Windows 10' Icon

I think I may not have to remove the pesky KB 3035583 anymore thanks to the help of another forum member who shone a light on the above program.
I have posted the details so that if any other Accyweb member is getting fed up of this intrusive way of updating(and of Sneaky Microsoft putting stuff on our machines that we neither want or need), they can also read about it and decide whether it is right for them.

I was told to go into X Box live and sign out , but there is no sign out ????
As reguards the other advice you have given me , I am sorry but I do not understand you. Technology and me do not speak.
