hughes to city

sparky has just been given permission to talk to city regarding the vacant managers position following erikssons departure....

I think any manager would move to a club where there was a lot of spending money available. Hughes has done a sterling job at Blackburn with next to nothing in way of transfer money so he'd be well happy with a substantial kitty at his disposal which would enable him to have realistic assault on the top four.

I think that he would have more money to spend at City, but even though not a Blackburn fan i think he`s done a great job there and unless he was to go to Chelski think he would be crackers to leave unless like already mentioned he`s been offered a large sum of money, in which case who could blame him, there`s no loyalty left in football, sad but thats the modern way.

Hughes has been given permission to talk to chelski apparently, city dont have a prayer if chelsea want him, nowt like putting pressure on yourself sparky! There doesnt seem to be much common sense at the top at chelsea, could be out of work again in 6 months!

There don't seem to be any sense in the Prem League at the moment Derek, managers being sacked after a very short time, thats what you get when clubs are taken over by people who know nout about footy, mind you I think Stanley are safe for a while Wynonie

That's more the quality I was thinking of. Sorry BR but I don't think Big Sam would be good enough. Rovers have got to a very good position now, loads of potential. They need a class manager who can build on the success and take them forward. To me, Big Sam is a mid-table calibre manager and couldn't take Rovers forward.

If Rijkaard would be allowed full control over his backroom staff I should think he'd relish the opportunity. Managing in the biggest league in the world, taking a club hovering in European places to play with the big boys, opportunity to make a point against Barca... doesn't seem too far-fetched to me. But you never know. I just think Rovers should set their sights higher than Allardyce to start off with before settling with the guy.

im by no means sayin it is good enough, but any manager knows that rovers have no money to compete with the big boys, we will always be a 6-10th place side, no "TOP" manager is gonna come here and accept that...simple as....we gotta be realistic royboy !!!

If the 5 Million as reported is to be given to Rovers for Mark Hughes....Give Frank the five million for a four year contract............nothing lost for Rovers...........I think he would snap your hand off........I think that might be realistic?

I dont think he will go to city , but if offered at chelsea who would blame him! Better players , better ground and most of all better better better money and more fans! Ive always been anoyed that blackburn are a club in the premiership , who are always in the top ten and they dont get the attendances! What is wrong with the fans!!!

I think if hughes does go you can say goodbye to bentley and santa! I also think if hughes does go you may not yet get big sam , they where also putting up mclaren on the list for the job! I think in a few years rovers will be in the Championship! Unless you get big fat sam!

Opinions are one thing fact is another. Blackburn are in the Premiership and are in the top seven......Ewood park is the envy of most teams.
The catchment in the area dictates the attendance. Should the Rovers get a high calibre manager Bentley and Santa Cruz would go nowhere.
Mc Laren for Rovers..Rubbish;......Big Sam...No thanks.

Ye that makes sense............I have corrected your post to 50 years.
An ode to me should read 'Big Sam is not the man for Rovers'.

when the inevitable happens big sam is a definate NO NO fer me, yeh he did ok at bolton, but to watch em - crap. i reckon rovers should start n up n coming guy,as hughes was, he'd only mamaged wales, i will probably get shouted down fer this but like i'm bovvered, i would go fer Paul Ince, don't personally like the guy, but hes got the same background as hughsie at man u, n aint done too bad on the bottom rung as hughes.

Well he'd certainly be better than Sam cashy thats for sure, but I think we'll end up with Big Sam only for the reason that he is far better working on a small budget like Hughes has done, than having plenty of cash like he had at the North East nut house

What about Shearer - he wants to get into Managing, could be popular with the fans, seems a nice, stable sort of bloke, etc.

Mark Hughes has agreed to a three year contract with Man City.

Chuffing nora! Well, all the best to him... seeing as City are a team I look out for.
No, I shan't use the dreaded, somewhat disgusting two words of 'second team'.

well ince aint exactly had big bucks thrown at him n fer me his sides play better footy than bolton did under big sam. plus would cost less fer ince, leaving more dosh fer transfers is my thoughts.;)

Fat Sam or Dick Avocaat

Fat Sam or Alan Shearer

Fat Sam or Michael Laudrup

A person called Fat Sam is not going to demand respect.

Michael Laudrup all the way....

Not a Rovers Fan

But I think Shearer would not be good for Rovers, neither would Big Sam

One would use it as a stepping stone and the other would change the free flowing footy that Rovers play

If it was me I would still look at Slaven Bilic or Gerard Houllier
