hughes to city
sparky has just been given permission to talk to city regarding the vacant managers position following erikssons departure....
1 question.....WHY take a step backwards  oh well bring on BIG SAM |
Re: hughes to city
It might just be for the MONEY!
|
Re: hughes to city
or he is forcing chelseas hand !!!
|
Re: hughes to city
I think any manager would move to a club where there was a lot of spending money available. Hughes has done a sterling job at Blackburn with next to nothing in way of transfer money so he'd be well happy with a substantial kitty at his disposal which would enable him to have realistic assault on the top four.

Re: hughes to city
He should go, he's doing too good a job at the moment. :p

Re: hughes to city
will miss him big - time if he goes, nowt to do with money margaret, fact is we have to sell our best if the price is right, plus we cannot compete spendingwise with certain clubs, n never will be able to, there aint 2 Jack Walkers, thats as real as it gets, shame but fact.

Hughes has been given permission to talk to chelski apparently, city dont have a prayer if chelsea want him, nowt like putting pressure on yourself sparky! There doesnt seem to be much common sense at the top at chelsea, could be out of work again in 6 months!

Re: hughes to city
The bigger question is who replaces him?
A couple of pieces I have seen give a host of names and the one stand out one is Slaven Billic |
Re: hughes to city
i do think its hypocritical that he himself wants to move on to futher his career yet when a player *bentley* says the same he threatens him with reserve team rotting
|
Re: hughes to city
Say as I do not do as I do
|
Re: hughes to city
mark my words....
big sam allardyce....no contest !!!!.....anybody else and rovers will have a lot of questions to answer !!!... 1. he's a proven premiership manager 2. he has worked on a shoe string budget before 3. he did for bolton what sparky did for us all say aye :D |
Re: hughes to city
Do you reckon Big Sam could take Rovers further from where Sparky may leave off though?
He's more used to being at t'other end of the table really. Would you not be interested in Sven BR? |
Re: hughes to city
Quote:
sorry mani, but going to city is not, and i repeat,is not, furthering his career....but yes its very hypocritical of him, i have lost a lot of respect for him, chelsea i could understand, but man bloody sh**ty.c'mon ..:confused:..:mad: |

Re: hughes to city
sam, mclaren and shearer are the names bein touted. Newell was on course for a possible candidate but hes career went dwindling after having sell his best players and all that bung inquiry. Hoddle has great knowledge but talks about unrelated matters to much. kenny???

im by no means sayin it is good enough, but any manager knows that rovers have no money to compete with the big boys, we will always be a 6-10th place side, no "TOP" manager is gonna come here and accept that...simple as....we gotta be realistic royboy !!! |

Re: hughes to city
I dont think he will go to city , but if offered at chelsea who would blame him! Better players , better ground and most of all better better better money and more fans! Ive always been anoyed that blackburn are a club in the premiership , who are always in the top ten and they dont get the attendances! What is wrong with the fans!!!
I think if hughes does go you can say goodbye to bentley and santa! I also think if hughes does go you may not yet get big sam , they where also putting up mclaren on the list for the job! I think in a few years rovers will be in the Championship! Unless you get big fat sam! |
Re: hughes to city

so then he would be coming for the money!!! i dont want somebody here just for that, i want somebody who would take pride in the club i love !! |
Re: hughes to city

if he went to chelski i would fully understand for the reasons youv;e said, but why o why join city :confused:....rovers...championship...:r ofl38::rofl38: and as for saying bye bye to bently,, thats a certainty anyway...and santa....well 1 more season and he'd be off anyway....just hope if he does go he wants to take mccarthy with him...:D |

when the inevitable happens big sam is a definate NO NO fer me, yeh he did ok at bolton, but to watch em - crap. i reckon rovers should start n up n coming guy,as hughes was, he'd only mamaged wales, i will probably get shouted down fer this but like i'm bovvered, i would go fer Paul Ince, don't personally like the guy, but hes got the same background as hughsie at man u, n aint done too bad on the bottom rung as hughes.

Not a Rovers Fan
But I think Shearer would not be good for Rovers, neither would Big Sam One would use it as a stepping stone and the other would change the free flowing footy that Rovers play If it was me I would still look at Slaven Bilic or Gerard Houllier |
